For Young Men . . .
Rites of Passage First Seed Ceremonial Weekend
Friday August 20th, 2:00pm – Sunday August 22nd, 11:00am
This is a Ceremonial weekend open to Young Men, ages 11-15. The weekend will offer the First Seed Rites of Passage Purification Lodge and Medicine Naming Ceremony. These are the first two ceremonies in a series of Rites of Passage Ceremonies within the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path that mark and celebrate the journey and passage from childhood into adulthood for Young Men.
Location: NE Arizona (location and directions after registration and payment)
Dance Chiefs: Razel Wolf and Jeff Hohensee
Cost: There is no cost for ceremony. Fee to cover materials, supplies, teaching fees, and land use fee is $180.00 (this covers the cost of one young man and one parent/guardian), an extra $25.00 fee will be added for each additional parent/guardian
Medicine Gifting: Within the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path, it is traditional to give the Dance Chief a medicine gift to honor their energy extended on your behalf, and tobacco which symbolizes the sealing of one’s intent and commitment to Spirit. For this weekend you are asked to bring 4 medicine gifts (1 for each Dance Chief, 2 for the Fire Crew) and tobacco.
What To Bring: A list of items to bring will be given at time of registration.
